The Home Hospitalization Unit (running since May 2021), whose main objective is to provide care to the patient in the comfort of their home, avoiding conventional hospitalization, now has an electric vehicle at its service.
Due to bureaucratic constraints and the pandemic, Guarda’s Local Health Unit (ULSG) was only able to acquire now the new vehicle for which it had received a significant donation of €20,000, delivered by COFICAB back in 2020.
The ULSG Home Hospitalization Unit has a permanent team of doctors, nurses, and operational assistants that support patients within a radius of eight kilometers of the city. In the first year of operation, this unit carried out more than 1100 visits to 115 patients, of whom 110 have already been discharged.
The symbolic ceremony of the vehicle’s delivery to the Home Hospitalization Unit team occurred today at Hospital Sousa Martins in Guarda, having COFICAB’s CTOO, Mr. João Cardoso, representing the company.
